Anana is originally from Denmark, and first came to Montreal to study at Les Grands Ballets Canadiens at the age of 12. She then trained as an actress and mask artist in both Europe and Canada and later performed for several years with the renowned Scandinavian theatre group Cantabile 2 that creates site-specific performances around the world. She has had the pleasure of working with many wonderful theatre companies in Montreal including Geordie Productions, Scapegoat Carnivale, Repercussion Theatre, Projet Porte Parole, and The Other Theatre.
Her latest film/TV/video game credits include Ghost Recon, Far Cry 5, Assassin's Creed, Rainbow Six, The Transplant, The Detectives, Mean Queen, Mother!, 19-2, This Life, Arrival, Quantico, Big Top Academy and Disappointment Blvd. She is the artistic director of Level 4 Theatre which has produced her two one-woman shows, Section O and Love, Child. Section O was nominated for Best Production and Best Performance at the MECCA awards and received a MECCA Revelation Award. Love, Child was nominated for Outstanding Independent Production and Outstanding Contribution to Theatre for Mask Design at the Montreal English Theatre Awards and won for Outstanding Lead Performance.
Her most recent mime/mask show is entitled The Sighlence of Sky and was performed at the Kin Gallery in November 2021 and play it on to the Gazette’s “top 10 theatre” list for the year. She has taught mask work at Cirque du Soleil, at an orphanage in India, and at the School of Stage Arts in Denmark. She has been teaching mime and improvisation at John Abbott College since 2005.
