Who are We ?

Kendall Savage
Is a native of of Ontario, but fell madly in love with Montreal after completing her Undergrad at Concordia University.  She has trained with the likes of Francine Coté, Aron DeCasemaker, Joe DePaul, Philip Gaulier and her Clown mentors Mike Kennard and John Turner of Mump and Smoot. Née en Ontario, Kendall tombe amoureuse de Montréal après y avoir complété son baccalauréat à l’Université Concordia. Parallèlement, elle a également étudié auprès des renommés Francine Côté, Aron DeCasemaker, Joe DePaul, Philippe Gaulier et bien sûr de ses mentors Mike Kennard et John Turner du duo clownesque Mump and Smoot.

Vanessa Rigaux
Born in Winnipeg and living in Montreal since 2008, Vanessa has a Master of Arts in Media Studies from Concordia and an undergraduate degree in Theatre Performance (Honours)  from the University of Winnipeg. She studied with Philipe Gaulier in Paris, where clown found her, and has made many trips to The Clown Farm where she practices with John Turner at the Manitoulin Centre for Creation and Performance in Pochinko Clowning. She has created video work as well as performance rooted in theatre, contemporary dance, and clown. She works in communications at Centaur Theatre Company and is a part of the Montreal English Theatre Awards Comittee (METAC).

Jen Quinn ​
A Director, Dramaturg, Curator and Producer who holds a BFA in Theatre Directing from the University of Victoria. Since relocating to Montréal, Jen has collaborated with several local theatre companies. Her direction for Composite Theatre Co.’s I’m Not Here at SummerWorks 2016 got her an Honourable Mention in the Canadian Stage Award for Direction. Jen is Head Administrator of the Freestanding Room, where she founded, curated and produced the ShortStanding Festival of Short Performances for three years. In 2014/15, she had the pleasure of being a part of the Black Theatre Workshop’s Artist Mentorship Ensemble. Jen joined the Imago Theatre team as Administrative & Artistic Assistant for their 2016/17 season

Trevor Barrette
Trevor is a Montreal-based actor, director and playwright / composer. Upon graduating from John Abbott CEGEP’s Professional Theatre program in 2011, he founded the award-winning Kaleidoscope Theatre Montreal and has directed their ten productions including four of his own musical creations. As an actor he has performed with the National Arts Centre, Centaur Theatre, Repercussion Theatre, MainLine Theatre, Geordie Productions, Persephone Productions among others. Trevor currently teaches at the Montreal Children’s Theatre and proudly serves on the Quebec Drama Federation’s Board of Directors and the Montreal English Theatre Awards Committee

James Douglas, ​Technical advisor 

James Douglas has been involved for many years in the Montreal Theatre scene starting as an actor with groups like Theatre-Shmeatre, Spontaneous Combustion, Cameo Productions, Montreal Serai, and as actor/director with Teesri Duniya Theatre with which he is now a board member.

He has worked as a photographer, lighting designer, technical director, and stage manager, touring with Geordie Productions for many years. Most recently as lighting designer and stage Managing Aftermath by Waterworks theatre in Montreal.

James is looking forward to helping out with The Montreal Clown Fest and considers himself a clown-in-training.
